Arrival Story:
Phoenix is a perfect result of being in the right place at the right time. A vet suggested that this little sweetie's owner should consider euthanasia because he was born with a birth defect called Cerebellar Hypoplasia and his quality of life would be poor. I BEG to differ!!! This little guy is our social butterfly and the life of the party! He has a ball just living his life and nothing can scare him, not the other cats in our house, (he simply ignored their ineffective spits, they had no choice but to stop) nor even our Rottie. He was named appropriately after the Phoenix, because no matter how many times he falls, he keeps getting back up. As a baby, with a little steadying and some help with his food dish, he was able to eat solids but he had to be fed liquids through an eye dropper because of his head tremors, aspirating was a real fear. He has always been a champ with the litterbox and still is, but often times he would fall in it, requiring many butt baths which he hated! That's when Trooper came to his rescue. He heard him crying and it was so upsetting to Trooper, I had to hand that baby over immediately and once I did, Trooper never let him go. They are inseperable to this day. Trooper, by the way, was very anti-social towards other cats, so I found it amazing the way he took to this baby and if you saw the way they are together, you would swear Trooper gave birth to him, their bond is that great. Phoenix has done amazingly well in the walking department and every now and then I'll catch him tackling something else to climb. He also eats and drinks on his own now. He has been a very big blessing to not only us humans but his feline roommates too! We all love him to pieces.

Bio:
I just want to mention that Phoenix's 1st mom Michelle, never wanted to give him up, but wasn't allowed to keep him where she lived. To this day, she is still in our lives and she & I became very good friends all thanks to our precious Phoenix. Things happen for a reason and being at the right place at the right time is always a good thing too!
